Addressing pornography’s impact on young people

Pornography is now the most prominent sexuality educator for most young people.

Pornography is a big issue that is being hotly debated by our communities and whatever your position on pornography, the evidence suggests that it is having a significant impact on young people and their perceptions / behaviours around relationships.

This National Conference will bring together young people, thought leaders, youth workers, counsellors, teachers and those who work with our young people to gain a fuller understanding of what these impacts are, the consequences on the lives of young people and their whanau, and how we can better support our young people in this digital world where explicit sexual content is a click away.

This forum will also aim to build awareness and examine responses that have proven successful in addressing sexual violence and the impacts of pornography amongst young people while nurturing a cross-sector interest and commitment to develop appropriate policy and practice responses.

Who should attend

This thought provoking conference is ideal for policy developers within government and community organisations, as well as youth workers, secondary school teachers, health professionals, Police, and those working in the sexual violence area.
